PBSC October - Anything Goes (Optional ' Black, White & One Other Colour')

It's the first Saturday of the month, so that means it's time for a new Penny Black Saturday Challenge...where the theme is:

'Anything Goes'
or
'Black, White & One Other Colour'

As usual, we are sponsored by the awesome 1-2-3 Stitch:
Prize - a $20 voucher!

I used the colour combination...adding orange...to decorate a Hallowe'en treat bag. Pairing one of the images from the 'Be Very Scared' set with papers from the 'Apothecary' pad by Echo Park. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to embossing the pumpkins on the plain-ish orange paper...sanding over the surface to reveal some of the white core. I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black pen.

I'm also entering this bag into the following challenges:

Witching You A Spooky Halloween

I have a Halloween treat bag to share today...there'll be more of these coming over the next few weeks. This one is really simple...I recently picked up some new Halloween papers, and used one from the Echo Park 'The Apothecary Emporium' pad on this bag as a background for a Penny Black cat & mouse image (from the 'Spooky' set).

I coloured the image using waterolour pencils, then carefully cut it out. I added a sentiment (from the same Penny Black set) to the paper, distressed the edges a little, then matted it on to some black card before attaching it to my bag.

Winter Wonderland

I have a winter wonderland themed card to share today, made using lots of die cuts. I used lots of plain-ish papers from a mixture of BasicGrey pads (the browns, greens & white) and and Echo Park (the blue one). The trees are a Marianne Designs die, the fence is by Die-namics, and the reindeer is by Die-sires. I embossed the blue background using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder to look like a snowy sky, and inked over the edges of everything using 'Picket Fence' Distress Ink. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Bubble Tree' set by Woodware, and I couldn't resist adding a red pearl for Rudolph's red nose!

ABC Christmas Challenge - Y is for...

We have a brand new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Lols is hosting and the theme is:

'Y is for Your Family'
Create a personalised card/tag

We are sponsored for this challenge by Fred She Said:
Prize - $10 Gift Certificate!

I made a set of personalised gift tags for family and friends. I used the reindeer stamps and co-ordinating dies from the 'Holiday Cheer' Framelits set by Sizzix/Hero Arts. I stamped the reindeer on to kraft card. in black and red...cutting out the jumpers from the red version and layering them over the top of the black ones. I made the background for each tag from plain-ish papers from the 'Winter Wishes' collection by Echo Park, and the 'Eskimo Kisses' collection by BasicGrey. I embossed the blue paper using a couple of Cuttlebug snowflake folders, and the trees (cut using another of the dies from the Framelits set) using my trusty 'Swiss Dots' folder...then I sanded over the top to reveal the white core. The 'snowy' ground is simply a piece of torn white card. I added the names using a set of alphabet stamps by Clear stamps, then added some twine (from Lakeland) to tie each tag on to each gift.

Pile It On! Challenge - Anything Christmas

It's time for the final Pile It On! Challenge of the year. and as usual both design teams are joining together to bring you a month long challenge. We know that it's a busy time of year for everyone, so we have a super easy theme for you:

'Anything Christmas!'

I went down the quick and easy route, picking a pre-coloured Lili of the Valley card topper...simply adding a touch of sparkle with a clear Sakura 'Stardust' pen. The papers are a mixture of different brands...Crate Paper 'Bundled Up' (the red & green papers), Prima Marketing 'All About Me' (the blue paper) and Echo Park 'tis the Season' (the snowflake paper). I inked the edges using a little Pumice Stone' Distress Ink to make them 'match' a little better, then distressed the edges and added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

ABC Christmas Challenge - O is for...

It's time for a brand new ABC Christmas Challenge...this fortnight Wilma is the host, with a theme of:

'O is for - O Christmas Tree'
Feature a Christmas tree on your card...simples ;0)

We are sponsored for this challenge by Bugaboo Stamps:

The prize from Bugaboo Stamps is 7 free digis!

I have quite a lot of Christmas tree stamps in my collection...I didn't realise just how many until I had a look through to choose a stamp for this card...I think I must have a bit of a problem! Anyway, I settled for this cute little Penny Black hedgy hurrying home with his tree safely strapped to the roof of his car from the 'Joy to the World' set. I coloured him using watercolour pencils, then carefully cut around the image. For the background, I started with a piece of Echo Park 'Winter Wishes' paper, then built a scene on top using lots more Christmas trees (cut using a Marianne Designs die), some grey card for the road, and some torn white card for some snow. I added some more snow to the trees and edges of the tron white card using 'Polar White' Flowersoft.

Pile It On! Challenge - Stripes and/or Plaid

This week at Pile It On! we are challenging you to use:

'Stripes and/or Plaid'

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

Prize - 3 Digis!

I used some more of the Echo Park 'Winter Wishes' papers that I broke into for Wednesday's card as there were stripes and plaid in the collection...this time distressing the edges a little and adding some faux stitching. The image is a Whiff of Joy stamp ('Ice Skating Henry Mouse'), which I coloured using watercolour pencils...adding some Stickles to the 'ice'. I cut some snowflakes using Marianne Designs Creatables and Cuttlebug dies...adding adhesive gems to their centres...and a few more gems here and there. The Baker's Twine (in three co-ordingating colours) is from the Ribbon Girls.

ABC Christmas Challenge - K is for...

It's time for a brand new ABC Christmas Challenge, and this fortnight Bettina is the host with a theme of:

'K is for Kept Safe'
It's time to use that stash that you've been saving!

Our sponsor this fortnight is:
Prize - Winner's choice of 3 images from Kenny K!

I decided that it was about time that I cut into the gorgeous Echo Park 'Winter Wishes' paper that I was given as a gift last Christmas...but couldn't bring myself to use! I paired it with my cute Lili of the Valley 'Snowman' stamp, which I coloured using watercolour pencils - I added some Stickles to the snow, but couldn't get it to show in the photos. I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch for the border, and added some Baker's Twine (from the Ribbon Girls) and a button from my stash.
