Christmas Delivery

I have another card featuring a charity shop find to share today...a stamp set by Crafter's Companion from the Moonbeam Meadow collection called 'Christmas Delivery'. I stamped the main image on to a piece of watercolour paper along with one of the sentiments from the set. I coloured it using watercolour pencils, then added a simple doodled border before adding it to a kraft card blank.

Time Out

Today's card features another of my recent charity shop bargain stamps...it's from the 'Moonbeam Meadows' collection by Crafter's Companion and is called 'Time Out'. I coloured it using watercolour pencils, then cut it into a circle shape using one of my Nesties. I found a spotty piece of paper to (almost) match the toadstool in a pad by Stampin' Up (also found in a charity shop), distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

True Love

I have a very simple card to share today, featuring a Crafter's Companion stamp (called 'True Love' from the Moonbeam Meadows collection) that I picked up in a charity shop a week or so ago, in a packet with another from the same collection for the princely sum of 80p! I did originally think they were Lili of the Valley stamps (I also got a couple of those packaged together...including the one I blogged yesterday...also for 80p), but after googling all manner of combination of keywords to try to identify them, I discovered that they were in fact by Crafter's Companion. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, then added some sparkle to the water, moon and butterflies using a Wink of Stella pen. I used my CutterBee Bug to pierce a simple border, then added it to my card blank. The sentiment stamp is from a magazine freebie set.

Sorry I Forgot!

Today's card featured a rather neglected elephant stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller for Crafter's Companion called 'Sorry I Forgot'. I coloured it using watercolour pencils to match some papers that came in a bag of mixed papers from a charity shop...no idea what brand/collection. I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The flowers are by Prima, and are held in place using some BasicGrey brads. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts...and it's been in my stash for so long, that I'm not sure where the lacy ribbon is from.

ABC Christmas Challenge - S & T are for?

We have another fun ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...this month Lisa is the host and we have two fun themes for you:

(Use a sketch from a current challenge)
&
'T is for Trio'
(Feature three of something)

I cut the snowflakes using Marianne Designs dies, and the sentiment was made using stamps from the 'Graffiti' alphabet set by Paper Smooches.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
My second card features a 'trio' of chickens...it's a stamp by Penny Black called 'Par Avion' which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The sentiment stamp is from a Christmas with Barkley set by Crafter's Companion.

Gone Fishing!

I've already blogged the card I've made for my Dad's for birthday tomorrow...and this one is for my Mum to give to him. He's a keen fisherman, so when I saw this cute stamp set by Crafter's Companion in a charity shop a little while ago I just had to pick it up...50p well spent I think! I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, and paired it with some papers from the 'Awesome Boy' pad by Recollections/Michaels. I inked around all of the edges using 'Old Paper' and 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Inks, then distressed them a little, before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment is a combination of stamps from sets by Paula Pascual & Clearly Besotted...I matted it, and the image, onto pieces of recycled corrugated cardboard...turning the sentiment into a little 'wooden' sign.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

I have a Christmas card to share today...featuring stamps from a couple of Penny Black clear stamp sets... 'Snow Much Fun' & 'Wintertime Cheer'. I combined birds from the two sets to make a little scene, doodled a simple border, and coloured it all using watercolour pencils. The sentiment from Barkely 'Purrfect Christmas' set by Crafter's Companion.

Inky Christmas

I have a set of Christmas cards to share today...inspired by these cards by Sandy Allnock. I started by smooshing three different combinations of Distress Inks on to watercolour paper...adding a few layers of ink, allowing each one to dry before adding the next. I cut panels of plain white card just a little smaller than my A6 card blanks, then used various Christmas dies to cut an aperture. I mounted the white panels over the inked paper on 3D foam pads, then attached them to my card blanks. The sentiment stamps are from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous.

I made a couple of each design:

Polar Friends

I have a simple little Christmas card to share today...featuring a Lili of the Valley stamp called 'Polar Friends'. It's a one layer number, so I stamped the image directly on to my card blank, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. I added some shimmer to the 'snow' using a Wink of Stella pen, then a sentiment (from a Christmas with Barkley set by Crafter's Companion.

ABC Christmas Challenge - U is for...

We have another fun ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Sue is the host and the theme is:

'U is for Under the Pile!'
(In other words...use something old or forgotten)

We are sponsored for this challenge by Bugaboo Stamps:
Prize - 7 Digis of the winner's choice!

I dug deep underneath my pile of patterned papers...and found my Penny Black 'Madison' pad...I've had it since the pad first came out in 2012, but hadn't used it in a while. I picked a piece with a snowflake pattern, and paired it with a neglected stamp set ('Christmas with Barkley' by Crafter's Companion). I stamped the image directly on to my card blank, then coloured it using watercolour pencils...you can't tell from the photo, but I added some sparkle to the snowy ground using a Wink of Stella pen. I cut a curve along the bottom of the snippet of patterned paper using a Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside' border die, and added one of the sentiments that accompanied the image in the set.

Nordic Reindeer

I have a simple Christmas card to share today...using a Die'sire reindeer die from Crafter's Companion. I cut him out of a snippet of kraft card, then inked around the edges using 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Ink to add a little definition. The checked paper is a snippet from a pad by Raspberry Road that came free with a craft magazine...I distressed the edges then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, and I think the ribbon was from Hobbycraft.

We have another fun Pile It On! Challenge starting today...and the theme is:

'Any Holiday'

Our sponsor this week is Doodle Pantry:
Prize - 3 Digital Images of the winner's choice!

I picked Christmas as my holiday...and made a white on white card using various dies to create a winter scene. I embossed the background using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder to look like falling snow, then built up the scene using my Memory Box 'Tree Silhouette', Lawn Fawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside Border' (without the stitched edging), and Die'sire's 'Reindeer' dies. I added a stamped sentiment (from the Tim Holtz 'Scribbly Christmas' set for Stampers Anonymous) and a little red adhesive pearl to Rudolph's nose!

ABC Christmas Challenge - T is for...

We have a new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Carissa is the host, and the theme is:

'T is for Transport'

We are sponsored for this challenge by Sweet Stamps:
Prize - $10 Gift Certificate!

I went with a snowboard for my form of transport, because nothing says Christmas more than a snowboarding chicken...right??!! The image is 'Snowboard Ride' by Penny Black...I coloured him using watercolour pencils, then carefully cut him out. I created a little mountain scene for him to snowboard through using my 'Stitched Hillside' border dies by Lawn Fawn, Simon Says Stamp 'Falling Snow' background stamp (heat embossed in white), and a couple of trees cut using dies from the 'Reindeer' set by Hero Arts/Sizzix cut from 'Merry Little Christmas' papers by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from the 'Christmas with Barkley' set by Crafter's Companion.
