The Tweets

Today's card features one of the quirky stamps from a set by Funky Fossil called 'The Tweets', that I got with a prize I won over at the AAA Cards Challenge recently. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, then coloured them using watercolour pencils. I added a sentiment from the 'Birthday Buddies' set by Paper Smooches, then distressed the edges a little before adding it to a kraft card blank.

Dad's the Word

Today I'm sharing the card I made for my Dad for Father's day. It features a cute stamp that I found in a charity shop a little while ago, called 'Dad's the Word' by Lili of the Valley. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Fresh Florals' pad by Craft Sensations...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen before layering it all on to a kraft card blank.

Challenges for this card:

I also made a simple gift tag for my Dad's present...using a cute Penny Blac chicken stamp called 'Present Pile'. I stamped it on to a snippet of watercolour paper, coloured it using watercolour pencils, then carefully cut him out. I heat embossed a chicken wire background stamp (by Darkroom Door) on to a kraft luggage tag using silver embossing powder, added the chicken on top using 3D foam pads, then tied it all together using some red baker's twine.

'L is for Lanterns'
&
'M is for Music'

The prize for the lucky winner is this cute 'Santa  Activities' die set from Sizzix & Olivia Rose:

The papers are from a pad from The Works...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

On my 'M is for Music' card, I used a Penny Black image from the 'Christmas Hugs' set, stamping it on to watercolour paper along with a sentiment from the 'Carolling Chicks' set by Stamping Bella, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are a mixture of Folia Paper 'Geomentrics' (the pink & stripey ones), and Poundland 'Pure Frozen' (the aqua snowflake one). I stamped the images on to watercolour paper, adding a sentiment using a stamp from the 'What This!' set by Anita Jeram for the Colorado Craft Company to the screen, then coloured the images using watercolour pencils. I used papers from a Christmas pad from Poundland called 'Let it Snow' for the background...distressing the edges a little, and adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

Trimming the Tree

I have another Christmas card to share today, featuring another charity shop find...a Penny Black stamp called 'Trimming the Tree'. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, added a sentiment using a stamp from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, then coloured the image using watercolour pencils. I was away from home when I made this card and didn't have any suitably coloured papers with me, so simply matted the image on to green and then red card before adding it to a kraft card blank.

Christmas Pandas

I have a Christmas card to share today, featuring a cute panda stamp from a set I found in a charity shop last week. It wasn't in its original packaging, so I'm not sure what brand the stamps are...they look a lot like Wild Rose Studio, but despite persistent Googling, I've not been able to identify them - if you do know what they are, please let me know! I stamped the image on to watercolour paper, adding a sentiment from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Let it Snow' pad from Poundland...I distressed all of the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and black and white gel pens.

June Desk Calendar

Today I'm sharing my desk calendar page for June...featuring a cute Penny Black sheep stamp called 'Butterflies & Ewe'...for no other reason than I already had him stamped, and he was the perfect size! He was stamped on a snippet of watercolour paper, coloured using watercolour pencils, then I used one of my Nesties to cut the circle shape. I paried it with snippets of papers from a My Mind's Eye pad called 'Pretty Please'. I distressed all of the edges then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

For the background, I heat embossed my Simon Says Stamp 'Falling Snow' background stamp in white on a piece of watercolour effect paper from the 'Pastel Watercolours' pad. Bookmarks

I have a couple of bookmarks to share today, made from snippets of kraft card to go with some books I've got for my Dad for Father's Day. The first one features a Penny Black chicken stamp from the '12 Days of Christmas' set...he's representing the 'Three French Hens'. I started by stamping the chicken, colouring him using watercolour pencils, then I made a mask so that I could stamp the background over the top. I first stamped a script background stamp called 'Wine Names' by Inkadinkado in a grey ink, then heat embossed a 'Chicken Wire' background stamp (by Darkroom Door) over the top in metallic silver over the top.

The second one accompanies a book on fishing, so I used some Hambo digital stamps, called 'Fish Trio' for that one. I coloured the fish using watercolour pencils, carefully cut them out, then added them to the bookmark.
