ABC Challenge - Q is for...
Over on the ABC Challenge we've arrived at the letter Q...which is for 'Quilted'.
Now, I've taken the theme quite literally...and I will admit to Goggling 'patchwork quilt patterns' whilst deciding what to do this week! lol I found a fairly simple pattern, and cheated a little, by using squares of paper (rather than triangles). I used two pretty floral design papers...which I think may be by K&Co...I'm afraid I don't know the names, as they were pieces sent to me in a swap...which I thought fitted with the 'country cottage' feel of a patchwork quilt. I then added zig-zag faux stitching around all of the edges. As I wanted the quilting to be the main feature of this card, I've added only a simple flower, made from scraps of the same papers cut using some of the 'Blossom' Nesties, cutting down to the centre to make the 'petals', and then I inked around the edges for definition...and as a hangover to last week's challenge, I've attached it with a Papermania pearl brad.
As always, for more inspiration, don't forget to check out the other DT members fab creations.
If you were one of the many entrants to last week's 'P is for Pearls' challenge, don't forget to check back later to see if you've been chosen by Denise from Whimsy Stamps, as the lucky winner of that cute monkey stamp.

One final Christmas card
This card was made from a pack of goodies sent out by my lovely friend Pauline to a group of crafting friends for our monthly (ish) challenge. I made the card to give to my Mum, so I've been waiting until I'd given it to her, before putting it on here. The pack contained: 2 6x6 sheets of gorgeous Basic Grey 'Figgy Pudding' double-sided paper (of which 3 of the patterns had to be visible on the finished card); 1 snowflake brad; a length of sparkly ribbon; a piece of pearlised white card; and a small white paper flower.
When I saw the brad, I just knew I had to use this stamp (Penny Black 'Xmouse Ornament!'), so I masked off the snowflake part of the stamp and replaced it with the brad. I've decoupaged the little mouse, although you can't see that very well in the photo. The kit was great fun to use - thank you Pauline! The only thing I added (apart from my stamped images) was a couple more flowers (as I had some of the same style, and I thought the one little flower looked a bit lonely!) and a bit of faux-stitching around the layers of paper.

Cute Card Thursday meets Friday Sketchers

This is the first time I've made a card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge blog, but as the theme this week was food...how could I resist! I've combined it with the fab sketch this week by Kristine over on Friday Sketchers.
For my main image I've used a Penny Black stamp from the T for Transparent set 'Party Critters'. The other cupcakes and the sentiment stamp are from the 'Cupcake' Clear Design set by Hero Arts. All images were coloured with watercolour pencils, with the frosting on the cupcakes highlighted with glitter glue, and mounted using Nestabilities. The papers are by DCWV ('Christmas Stack'), and I've used faux-stitching to create borders around the different designs, and behind the three smaller images.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 13
This week over on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog, the theme is 'One for the Girls'. Now, I'm not really a very 'girly' girl, but I've tried my best, and gone for a pink and green colour scheme, with paper by Basic Grey, which I think is quite feminine. I've used one of my new Penny Black stamps, that I got for my Birthday last month, called 'Bunny Friends'. I masked off some of the image, so that it would fit onto a smaller card. The greeting is from the Cuttlebug alphabet set 'Olivia', and I've finished the whole thing off with a couple of Prima flowers, and a border of faux-stitching in white. I'm going to send this card to my swap partner, for the September Friendship Card Swap, over on the DoCrafts forum.
