Crafty Little Fairies - Starting Over

It's time for a new challenge over at the Crafty Little Fairies...and seeing as it's our first of 2014, the theme is:

'Starting Over'
(New Home/Baby/Job etc)

The sponsor this week is:

The Ribbon Girl
Prize - a £10 voucher to spend at The Ribbon Girl!

It's not actually my team's week...but I'd made a card at the weekend that was perfect for the theme...so couldn't resist playing along :0)

I've made a 'New Baby' card...and used a new stamp too...it's by All Night Media, but doesn't have  name on it. I simply coloured the nappy pins using watercolour pencils in various pastel shades so the card is suitable for either a baby boy or a baby girl. I used my trusty Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder for the embossing...distressing the edges a little. The sentiment stamp is from a set by Art Impressions, the ribbon is the last scrap of a piece that I think came from the Ribbon Reel, and the Card Candi is by Craftwork Cards.

ABC Christmas Challenge - G is for...

I have another card today for our current ABC Christmas Challenge...where the theme is:

'G is for Girl or Guy'
Show us your feminine or masculine creations.

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

The prize from Bugaboo Stamps is 7 free digis!

As I made a masculine card last week, I thought I'd better make a girly one this time...the image (and sentiment) is from a set of stamps by Lili of the Valley. I coloured it using watercolour pencils to match the glittery paper (from the 'Wonderful Winter' pad by My Mind's Eye)...adding some more sparkle to the image with some Stickles. The snowflakes (covered with more Stickles) were cut using Marianne Designs and Cuttlebug dies, I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch for the border, and the pleated ribbon is from the Ribbon Reel.

Oldie but a Goodie - Glitz & Glam

It's time for a new challenge over at Oldie but a Goodie, and this fortnight the theme is:

'Glitz & Glam'

I'm not sure of the prize info at the time of writing this...so I'll update it when I get home from school :0)

I've used a Whiff of Joy image ('Willow Dressing Up') that my lovely friend Samantha sent to me ages ago...she's been waiting patiently for me to make a 'glamorous' card! lol I coloured her in my favourite colour...teal/aqua...to match the Heidi Grace papers. I added some frilly lace along the edges of one of the papers, and some sheer ribbon (both from Ribbon Reel)...with a faux bow held in place using a sparkly brad (from Craft Obsessions). For a little bit of 'glitz' I added a few sparkly gems & pearls.

Bella & Butterfly

I've used a new stamp on today's card and is called 'Bella with Butterfly' by Wild Rose Studio...it was a birthday gift from my lovely friend Pauline...thanks so much...I love it! The papers I've used are from the 'Hopscotch' pad by BasicGrey...I distressed the edges, then added faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The pleated ribbon is from the Ribbon Reel and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts.

ABC Christmas Challenge - X is for...

I have another card for our current ABC Christmas Challenge for you today...where the theme is:

'X is for Xerox'
Basically, we want you to 'Xerox'...copy...CASE...a card by either myself or one of my lovely design team buddies for one of this year's ABC Christmas challenges. There are links to all of this year's challenges in the sidebar of the ABC Christmas blog...with plenty of cards to choose from!

We have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge:

The prize from Digital Delights is 3 of their wonderful images.

And the prize from Bugaboo is 7 fabulous images!

I picked this beautiful card by Lols, from our 'I is for Ice, Indigo & Inspiration' Challenge back in April...I loved the snowy scene:

I don't have the stamp that Lols used, or even anything remotely like it, so I used tree stamps from my 'Reindeer' staamp/die combo set by Hero Arts & Sizzix...embossing them in white. To make the falling snow, I used a Versamark pen to draw random dots, and embossed them in white too. I then blended 'Tumbled Glass', 'Faded Jeans' and 'Stormy Sky' Distress Inks over the top...then spritzed it with a little water to give the effect of snowflakes in the distance. The rest of the card is pretty similar...I used my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder for the embossing...rubbing some blue ink lightly over the top...I think Lols used Core'Dinations 'Whitewashed' card...and I was going to...but I'd used up all the blue pieces in my pack! I used different ribbon (from the Ribbon Reel), and snowflakes too (mine were cut using a Marianne Designs Creatables die)...but it still looks pretty similar.
