***Please scroll down for my Penny Black Saturday Challenge DT Card***

******************************************

This week, it's Wendy's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen:

'Male Cards'

Perfect, with Father's Day just around the corner in the UK.

I've used a Whipper Snapper stamp called 'Doggy Pile' on my card, which I coloured using watercolour pencils. I used three Cuttlebug folders ('Swiss Dots', 'Happy Birthday'& 'Diamond Plate') on plain papers from the BasicGrey 'Max and Whiskers' pad (available here at the Secret Crafter)...sanding over the raised areas to reveal the white core. I distressed the edges of everything with 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Ink (available here at the Secret Crafter)

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Photo Inspiration

*Please scroll down for my Penny Black Saturday Challenge DT Card*

********************************************

This week it's Tracie's turn to set the theme for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge...and she has chosen:

'Photo Inspiration'

I took my inspiration from the colours, and the floral pattern on the wallpaper. The image is 'Spring Swing' by Lili of the Valley, which I coloured using watercolour pencils, then cut out using one of my 'Deckled Rectangle' Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are from three different BasicGrey pads: 'Wisteria'; 'Sultry'; and 'Boxer'...and I used my Cuttlebug 'Flower Fantasy' folder for the embossing. I distressed all of the edges and added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The flowers, are by Prima, the brads are Papermania, and the adhesive pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Clean & Simple

This week it's Kelly's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen:

'Clean & Simple'

As it's the last challenge of the month, it's your last chance to be included for the draw for the prize from our fabulous sponsor The Stamping Boutique.

I decided not to stamp an image for my card, and used die cuts instead. The cupake is made using a set of Marianne Designs Creatables dies (available here at the Secret Crafter) and BasicGrey 'Hopscoth' papers). I embossed the chocolate coloured icing using my Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' folder (available here at the Secret Crafter). I mounted it on to a circle cut from My Mind's Eye 'Penny Lane' paper using one of my circular Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter), added a strip of My Mind's Eye 'Wild Asparagus' paper across the centre, and a few adhesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter). The sentiment stamp is from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts.

**Please scroll down for my Penny Black Saturday Challenge DT project**

This week, it's Kate's turn to set the theme for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen:

'Anniversary'

My card is for a golden wedding anniversary. I cut the hearts using the Cuttlebug 'Concentric Hearts' die, embossing the solid one with the Cuttlebug 'Kassie's Brocade' folder, and mounted them on to circles cut with Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used my Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' (available here at the Secret Crafter) and 'Swiss Dots' (available here at the Secret Crafter) folders to emboss the background. I matted everything on to gold mirror card, and then added a simple piece of gold satin ribbon, and a few gold adhesive pearls to finish.

It's Jane's turn to set the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and she's created this fabulous sketch for us all to use:

I used it to make the card I sent to my brother for his 30th birthday today. The image is 'Moodles - Hugo Pressie' by Pollycraft, which I coloured using watercolour pencils, and then cut out using one of my circular Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are by We R Memory Keepers from the '72 & Sunny' and 'Hippity Hoppity' pads. I distressed the edges, and added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white pen. I cut the stars using my Nesties, my Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet for the numbers, and added a few pieces of Card Candi to finish.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Dust off your stash

*Please scroll down for my Goodwill Blog Hop & Penny Black Saturday Challenge DT projects :0) *

This week, it's my turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and I have chosen:

'Dust off your stash'
(In other words, show some love to something neglected)

My neglected stash, is this adorable 'Ruffles - A Present for You' by Helz Cuppledich for Stampavie...which last saw ink at the start of last August...shocking! I coloured him with watercolour pencils, then cut it out using one of my 'Lacey Circle' Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are from the 'Colourful Christmas' collection by My Mind's Eye...and I distressed the edges a little before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Critter Party' set by Penny Black.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - For a Baby

It's Francesca's turn this week to choose the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen:

'For a Baby'

As it's the last challenge of the month, it's your last chance to be included for the draw for the prize from our fabulous sponsor The Stamping Boutique.

I've used an adorable Penny Black image on my card called 'In a Nutshell'...just perfect for a new baby card...which I coloured using watercolour pencils, then cut out and mounted on to circles cut using my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used three different Cuttlebug folders to emboss the background - 'Swiss Dots', 'D'Vine Swirls' and 'Kassie's Brcoade' (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch for the border, and added a some spotty ribbon (from Hobbycraft) and Card Candi. The flowers were cut using a die from the Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet set, and I added small adhesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter) to their centres.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Pink, Brown & Cream

This week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge has been set by Bridget, and she has chosen a colour combo of:

'Pink, Brown & Cream'

I've used an adorable Penny Black image on my card, from the 'Critter Party' set, that hadn't seen any ink in a while. I coloured it using watercolour pencils, then added Glossy Accents to the icing on the cupcake (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are from the 'Hopscotch' pad by BasicGrey, and I couldn't resist distressing the edges with inks and my distressing tool, before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. I cut the circles using various Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter), embossing the cream one with my 'D'Vine Swirls' Cuttlebug folder (available here at the Secret Crafter), and the brown one with my Craft Concepts 'Cupcakes' folder, sanding the surfaces to reveal the white core of the paper.  I used a sentiment from the same Penny Black set, added a few pieces of card candy and a bow tied using seam binding ribbon.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Stitching

This week it's Beate's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen:

'Stitching'
(Real or faux)

Faux stitching is something I love to do on my cards, especially if I've distressed the edges of the papers, as I always thinks it makes them look kind of like fabric. I use a CutterBee Bug to pierce holes in the papers to make the stitching look more realistic, before drawing on the stitches with a white gel pen. The image I've used on this card is called 'Amelie Bunnykins' by Toodles & Binks, which I coloured using watercolour pencils, then cut out using my circle and scalloped circle Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers and tag are all from the 'Hippity Hoppity' scrapbook pad by We R Memory Keepers.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Our Feathered Friends

It's Andie's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and she chose:

'Our Feathered Friends'

I chose to use another of the adorable Pollycraft digis that I won recently...this one is called 'Follow the leader'. I coloured it using watercolour pencils to match the zesty colours of the 'Hippity Hoppity' papers by We R Memory Keepers. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp, but I masked and stamped the words individually so that it would fit in a circle, which I cut out using my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch for the border, and a scrap of ribbon from my stash over the top of it.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Butterflies

It's Wendy's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and she has chosen:

'Butterflies'

I've used a cute Lili of the Valley stamp on my card called 'Gift Wrapped', which I coloured using watercolour pencils, and then cut out using my oval Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are from the 'Hippity Hoppity' pad by We R Memory Keepers...I'm loving the fresh 'Springy' colours of these at the moment. The flowers are form Wild Orchid Crafts, and the rainbow ribbon is from Hobbycraft. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts, and I used my circular Nesties to cut it out (available here at the Secret Crafter).

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Christmas in Spring

It's Tracie's turn to set the theme for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and she has chosen:

'Christmas in Spring'

Perfect for those of you (like me!) trying to get ahead by making Christmas cards all year round.

As it's the last challenge of the month, it's your last chance to be included for the draw for the prize from our fabulous sponsor The Stamping Boutique.

I've used  a stamp from the 'Jolly Friends' set by Penny Black, which I coloured using watercolour pencils, and then used 'Crystal' Stickles (available here at the Secret Crafter) to add some sparkle. The papers are by My Mind's Eye from the 'Colourful Christmas' and '29th Street Market' collections, and I used my distressing tool to rough up the edges before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The sentiment stamp is also by Penny Black, and the snowflakes were cut using Marianne Creatables dies (available here at the Secret Crafter).

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Anything but a Card

The theme of this week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is:

'Anything but a Card'

I've made a little tea-light cupcake, and a matching box to present it in.

The tea-light cake was so simple to do...I followed this tutorial over on Splitcoast Stampers. The papers are from the 'Bittersweet' pad by BasicGrey, and instead of using a punch for the scalloped circle on the top, I used one of my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used ahesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter) to decorate the top. I used more of the same paper to decorate the box, adding a flower made using my Nesties again, following this tutorial on Joanne's blog. Here's a close-up of the flower:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Flowers for Mum

This week it's Kate's turn to choose the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, which is:

'Flowers for Mum'

Perfect timing, with Mother's day coming up soon here in the UK...and I did originally plan to make a Mother's Day card...but I couln't find my 'Mother's Day' sentiment stamp...must tidy my stamps!
The image I've used is 'Teddy with Bouquet' by Lili of the Valley, which I coloured using watercolour pencils to match the 'springy' colours of the 'Hippity Hoppity' papers by We R Memory Keepers. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts 'Cupcakes' set, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter) to cut out the image, sentiment and scalloped shapes.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Patchwork Background

This week over at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, it's Jane's turn to choose the theme, which is:

'Patchwork Background'

This is a fab way to use up all those little bits of paper you've been saving 'cos you just couldn't bare to throw them away! :0)
I used a whole load of scraps from the BasicGrey 'Lemonade' pad (avaiable here at the Secret Crafter)...I love this pad so much, that all I have left are scraps! They were all different sizes, so I've created a random pattern, distressing all of the edges, and adding faux stitching with my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The colours of the papers are bright and zingy, so I've made an Easter card, using two of the bunnies on the 'Bunny Friends' stamp by Penny Black, cut out using one of my circular Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp, and the flowers are by Prima.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Sweet Treats

It's my turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and I have chosen:

'Sweet Treats'
(In other words, something yummy on your card)

Our new DT members join us next week, but unfotunately one of them has been unable to join us...which means that we were able to invite ANDIE to join our little team!

Also, as this is the last week of the month, it's your last chance to be included in the draw for 5 digi's of your choice from our sponsor:

We also have wonderful news about the Secret Crafter store...Wendy's shop was voted runner-up in the Best Independent Craft Shop in the Midlands in the Aceville Awards - Congratulations Wendy!
Also, she will soon be stocking the fabulous range of Clarity stamps, and a new electronic die cutting machine called the ECraft...you can find them alongside all the other lovely goodies Wendy stocks at the Secret Crafter.

I've used an adorable House Mouse stamp called 'Birthday Cupcake' on my card, which I coloured using watercolour pencils, before adding a generous frosting of 'Crystal' Stickles (available here at the Secret Crafter) to the icing. The pink spotty paper is from the 'Quite Contrary' pad by My Mind's Eye, and I used an embossing folder, covered in sweeties, from a Hallowe'en set by Cuttlebug on brown card, then sanded the surface to reveal the white core, using my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamond' punch along the bottom. The sentiment is a Cuddly Buddly stamp, and I cut it out using my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I distressed all of the edges with inks, and my distressing tool, adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen, and a few adhesive pearls in the corners (available here at the Secret Crafter).

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Fancy Folds

It's Bridget's turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, and she has chosen:

'Fancy Folds'

I've been experimenting with a few different card folds recently, and decided a make a type of gate-fold card...this one has a double fold in the front. I started with a piece of card measuring 12 inches by 5 inches, then scored the card at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches...once folded it measures 4x5 inches.

Here's a view of the card 'open':

The image I used is 'Rainin' Daisies' by Penny Black, coloured with watercolour pencils, and then cut out using my lacey circles Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter). I used three different Cuttlebug folders for the embossing: 'Victoria'; 'D'Vine Swirls'; and 'Floral Fantasy' (available here at the Secret Crafter). I cut the flowers using a die from the Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet, and then added some adhesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter) to their centres.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - A Stamped Flower

Before I get on to the theme of this week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, I'd like to say a big welcome to our new DT members:

They all have fabulous blogs...well worth a look, and their first challenge with us will be on March 2nd.

Ok, on to this week's challenge, which has set by Wendy, and the theme is:

'A Stamped Flower'

I have quite a few flower stamps...but they rarely get a look in, so it was good to have a rummage through my stamps for this challenge. The flower I've used is from the 'Art Deco' set by Woodware, which I coloured with watercolour pencils, then cut out using my Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter) I couldn't decide which papers to use on this card, so in the end chose not to use any, and instead use my Cuttlebug 'Kassie's Brocade' and 'Victoria' folders (available here at the Secret Crafter) on plain card for the background. I added a large bow of seam-binding ribbon...which may have fallen into my basket while I was picking up some bits and pieces for my recent candy ;0) and a few adhesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter)

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Valentines

This week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge has been set by Tracie, and the theme she has chosen is:

'Valentine'

My card is ultra clean and simple...I made the base from kraft card, and then stamped some Penny Black hedgehogs from the 'Every which way' set on to some offcuts. I coloured them with watercolour pencils, and then added some Glossy Accents (available here at the Secret Crafter) to the hearts. I used one of my scalloped square Nesties (available here at the Secret Crafter) to cut out the red mats.
