Layered Tree Thank You Cards

I have a couple of simple 'Thank You' cards to share today...made using a set of layering stamps that were a magazine freebie. I used Distress Inks for the stamping (Gathered Twigs, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry & Festive Berries), starting with the trunk, then adding the leaves and flowers or hearts at the end. The sentiment stamp is from another magazine freebie set. I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen, then layered the stamped panels on to some coordinating pink or red card.

Patchwork Woodland Creatures

I have a set of cards to share today featuring animals from a set of Jennifer Ellory stamps (called 'Oscar the Owl & Pals') that originally were a craft magazine cover gift, but I picked up in a charity craft shop last month for the princely sum of 50p. I coloured the critters using watercolour pencils to match the snippets of 'Happy Day' papers (by My Mind's Eye). I cut the images out using one of my circle Nesties, then added them to some kraft card blanks, along with the snippets of paper and sentiments from the same stamp set.

Cupcake Mouse

I've used another new stamp on today's card...this one comes from a set called 'Pic & Lili' from Artemio, which was a birthday gift from my lovely bloggy buddy Samantha. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils. The papers are from a Jennifer Ellory pad that came free with a craft magazine...I added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The balloons were cut using a die that was also a magazine freebie...I added some 'strings' to them using a black gel pen. The adhesive pearls are from Hobbycraft

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge - Bunting

This fortnight's Oldie but a Goodie Challenge is all about:

'Bunting'

I've used some little bunting and alphabet stamps that came free with craft magazine to make a Mother's Day card. The image stamp is from Lili of the Valley called 'Big Bouquet', which I coloured using watercolour pencils...and the papers were also a magazine freebie. I doodled some simple borders and added a few pieces of Card Candi.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Bake a Cake

Virtually everything I've used on today's card is new...and free! The stamps and papers are from a set called 'Bake a Cake' that came with the latest Papercraft Inspirations magazine, and are designed by Jennifer Ellory. I used several of the stamps to create the cake...paper piecing the two tiers, and adding some little pearls to the cake stand, and glitter on the candle's flame. I used the other papers from the pack for the background...carefully cutting out a string of the bunting from one of the sheets. The sentiment stamp is also from the set...then I simply doodled borders around everything using a black gel pen.
