There's another fab sketch this week over on the Sketch Saturday Challenge, which was just perfect to combine with the 'Circles' theme of the Stampavie Challenge. I've used 'Hoppy Spring' by Rachelle Anne Miller, combined with papers from the 'Sultry' pad by BasicGrey, one of which I embossed with the 'Spots & Dots' Cuttlebug folder. The flowers and ribbon are from Poppicrafts, and the lace is from Hobbycraft.Sunday, 17 May 2009

Just Christmas & Birthdays meets Creative Inspirations
I loved the simplicity of the sketch for this week's Just Christmas & Birthday Cards Challenge, and decided to keep my card simple, with an embossed white background, so I'm also entering this card for the Creative Inspirations 'Embossing' challenge. I used a Penny Black stamp (from the 'Christmas Critters' set), and used the Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' folder to emboss the white card, leaving a strip across the middle for the sentiment (stamp by Studio G), and then simply added a few adhesive gems.Triple Challenge Henry...
I've used the lovely Henry ('Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy) again on another combined challenge card...I can't help it...he's so adorable! This time, I've used the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp; the colour combo of 'Pink & Brown' from the One Stop Craft Challenge; and the challenge to use 'Glitter' from the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. The paper is by BasicGrey ('Blush'), the sentiments are both by Hero Arts (from the 'Anytime Messages' and 'Cupcakes' sets), the raffia lace is from Hobbycrafts, and I also added some shimmery card candy (by Craftwork Cards). Please don't look too closely at the photo...I had a bit of an accident with the 'Tiara' stickles, as I was adding the dots around the image...grrrr...so it's not as neat as I would have liked! lol

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #10
I've used 'Annie' ('Blossom' by Leanne Ellis) in one of my favourite colour combinations 'Pink & Green' on my card for the current Sugar Bowl Challenge. The papers are a mixture of K&Co and BasicGrey, and I inked the edges with a pink fluid chalk (although it doesn't how up very well in the photo). I embossed one with the 'D'Vine Swirls' Cuttlebug folder. The flowers are Prima, the brad and buttons are by Papermania, and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts.Thursday, 14 May 2009
Snowy Two in One...
I've kept my promise, and made a second Christmas card this week to make up for not getting one done last week, and have used the fab sketch from this week's Our Creative Corner Challenge. I've also used the colour combination from the Pink Elephant Challenge of 'Blue, Green & White'. I decided to give the gorgeous 'Snowy' (by Penny Black) his first inking of 2009, and papers by Pebbles Inc, combined with the 'Snowflakes' embossing folder and a few adhesive gems.Wednesday, 13 May 2009
It's all about Friendship...
There was a bit of a twist to this month's friendship swap on the Docrafts forum...Carol had made a sketch for us to follow, with the added challenge of using at least two of the colours on the sketch, on our cards. Now, as you all know, I love a good sketch...and this one is fab...thanks Carol! I used shades of blue and green...slightly softer than the ones on the sketch!...with papers by BasicGrey (from the 'Two Scoops' pad). My image is 'Rainin' Daisies' by Penny Black, the sentiment and swirl stamps are by Whiff of Joy, the flowers are from Poppicrafts, and the pearls are from my stash. I'm also entering this card for a couple of challenges: the Everybody Art Challenge (where the theme is 'Friends & Family'); and the Whiff of Joy Challenge (where the theme this week is 'Friendship')...although the main image is by Penny Black, I did use Whiff of Joy sentiment and swirl stamps...I hope that counts.ABC Challenge - N is for...
This week we're at the letter N...for 'Not a Card' on the ABC Challenge blog. I decided to do some beading, and make a handbag charm. I used a mixture of glass beads in various shades of green and threaded them on to headpins. I made a loop in the ends, then attached them to a piece on chain using jump rings. I then attached one end of the chain to a lever clip using a split ring (for extra security), and added a silver butterfly charm to the other end.
This week, we've decided to offer our lovely challenge supporters the opportunity to win some of the items we've created for this challenge. I'll be giving away my handbag charm to one of the entrants of this weeks challenge. All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is make something other than a card for this week's challenge, and leave me a comment on this post. I'll choose a winner at random next Wednesday (20th May).
For more inspiration...and to see what goodies the other members of the design team have on offer make sure you visit the ABC Challenge. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week!

Friday Sketchers meets Papertake Weekly
I think I must be inspired by the lovely sunny weather we keep having at the moment...I seem to have a thing for bright colours at the moment! I loved all the angles of the different layers in this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge, so just had to have a go. I've also used animals on my card (which makes a change! lol) so I'm also entering this for the 'Animal Antics' themed Papertake Weekly Challenge. I've used part of the 'Bunny Friends' stamp by Penny Black as my main image, with papers by Sandylion and K&Co...and I've inked around all of the edges with pink to add definition. The flowers are all from Poppicrafts.Monday, 11 May 2009
Stampavie & More...
There's a fab sketch for this week's Stampavie & More Challenge....great for a quick make. I've used another of the images sent to me by my lovely ABC DT mate Vicky - this one is called 'Bees & Bunny' by Penny Black. The papers are a mixture of K&Co and Pebbles Inc, and I echoed the paisley pattern on one of the papers with some embossing using the 'Perfect Pasiley' Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment stamp is by Stampendous, and I finished it off with a few pieces of Craftwork Cards card candy.Sunday, 10 May 2009
Happy Mail...4 in 1
I knew as soon as I saw this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge, which is to make a card to send to a Post Pal child to brighten their day, that I had to join in. I have sent a couple of cards to children through the Post Pals scheme before...but not for a while. I used this week's Sketch Saturday sketch, as the basis of my card, and have also managed to combine a couple of themes from other challenges too: the 'Touchy Feely' theme of A Spoon Full of Sugar with the textured Cuttlebug embossing; and have used several brads (round and a dragonfly) for the Secret Crafter Challenge. The image is a Sugar Nellie stamp ('Bunny with Flowers' by Rachelle Anne Miller), the stripey paper is by K&Co (from the Amy Butler pad), the flowers are all from Poppicrafts, the sentiment is from the Clare Curd Signature Range set of sentiments by Papermania, the dragonfly brad is by Dovecraft, and I used the 'Swiss Dots' and 'Perfect Paisley' embossing folders on the plain card.Papertake Weekly meets Colour Create

Penny Black Saturday Challenge meets the Creative Card Crew
Although this is not my usual style, I quite like the way it's turned out...although, now I see it on screen...I can't help thinking it looks rather like a Sympathy card...which is not what I set out to make at all!

Docrafts Card Kit Swap
I've combined a couple of challenges to make my card fro this month's card kit swap on the Docrafts forum...the sketch from Friday Sketchers, which as a DL shape, is perfect for the Stamp with Fun Challenge of making an 8x4 inch card. I've used a Miss Anya image sent to me by my lovely ABC DT buddy Jen, combined with My Mind's Eye papers ('Adore'). The sentiment stamp is by Doodlebug, the flowers and ribbon are from Poppicrafts, and the pearl brad is by Papermania.Wednesday, 6 May 2009
ABC Challenge - M is for...
I've used a Gorjuss Girl image sent to me by my lovely ABC DT mate Vicky, combined with black and silver papers from the DCWV 'Glitter' stack, matted on to silver mirror card. I've also used a touch of pink mirror card behind the Gorjuss Girl, and the black card is shiny too. I tied a filigree heart charm into the ribbon, and added a few of the little gems I won in Kath's candy to the corners.
Make sure you stop by to see if you are the lucky winner of the prize for last week's challenge, and of course to check the rest of the Design Team's inspirational creations!

Sketch Saturday meets Whiff of Joy
I combined a couple of challenges to make a birthday card for my blogging buddy Carol...her birthday's not 'til Thursday, so I've told her not to peek! lol I've used the fab Sketch Saturday Challenge sketch, and the Whiff of Joy Challenge theme of 'Stars & Stripes'. The main image is 'Henry - Celebrating Mouse', and the yummy papers are all by BasicGrey ('Bittersweet'). The stars were all cut using Nesties, the sentiment is from the 'Circular Greetings' set by Woodware, and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts.Monday, 4 May 2009
Four Challenges in One...
I've followed the sketch from the Sketch & Stash Challenge for this card...and have managed to include the themes of a few other challenges too...Cupcake Craft asked us to use numbers on our cards (they are on the paper); the Daring Cardmakers wanted 'Farmyard Animals' so I've given them a chicken; and the Penny Black Saturday Challenge was to use at least three different shapes...and I've managed to get squares, rectangles, triangles and a star on this card. My main image is 'Party Perch' by Penny Black...which I've had for ages, but can't remember the last time I inked it up, and my new item is the sentiment stamp (from the 'Kids Quotes' set by Inkadinkado). The papers are all from the 'Cupcakes' pad by BasicGrey, and the star was cut using a Nestie die.Happy Birthday Pauline!
My lovely blogging buddy Pauline is celebrating her birthday today...so of course I've made her a card. I followed the sketch from the Stampavie & More Challenge...when did they change the name and let us use any stamps??? I've used a Penny Black stamp ('Gifts for you!') as it was through our shared love of PBs that I first met Pauline, on the DoCrafts forum. I decoupaged the flower head...you may be able to see it better if you click the photo for a larger view. I used BasicGrey papers ('Blush') in shades of pink and green, as it's one of her favourite colour combos, embossing the pink one with my 'Spots & Dots' folder. The flowers are from Poppicrafts, the pearl brads are Papermania, the sentiment is by Stampendous, and I used a couple of pieces of Craftwork Cards 'card candy'. I'm also entering this card for the Everybody Art Challenge, where the theme is 'Animals', and the Secret Crafter Challenge which has the theme of 'Flowers' this week.Hope you're having a fabulous birthday Pauline!
