Butterfly Wishes

This is another of the cards I made last weekend for one of the many October birthdays that are coming up. The image is 'Butterfly Wishes' by Penny Black, which I coloured using watercolour pencils to match the Autumnal shades in the 'Bloom & Grow' papers by My Mind's Eye. I inked around all of the edges using chalk ink pads, and added a sentiment (from the 'Critter Party' set by Penny Black).

Ice-cream Mouse

I've been playing with another of the gorgeous Stampavie stamps I won...this one is called 'Mouse holding ice-cream' by Tina Wenke. I watercoloured him, and added some Glossy Accents to the sundae dish and the cherry on top. The papers were also amongst the goodies I won...I'm not sure who they're by, as there were no markings on them...so if you recognise them...please leave me a comment. The rainbow ribbon is from Hobbycraft.

Age is only a number...

There's a fab sketch for this week's Mojo Monday Challenge...where it's contest time...so I just had to have a go. I've combined it with the themes from some other challenges: A Spoon Full of Sugar's 'One for the boys'; Cards for Men's 'Humour'; Crafty Calendar's 'April Fools'; and Creative Inspirations (Wed) 'Green, Brown & Blue' (although the colours all look a bit grey in the photo! lol). The image is 'Unlisted' by Inkadinkado, and the papers are from the 'Archaic' pad by BasicGrey...I thought that the dinosaurs kind of looked like the lizard! lol

Hoppy Spring!

I'm back with another 'Spring' themed card...this time for the Stampavie Challenge. I followed the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp...and as I've used quite a few flowers on this card, I'm also entering it into the Crafty Calendar & Cupcake Challenges, both of which have 'Flower Power' as their current theme.
The image I've used is called (rather appropriately) 'Hoppy Spring', by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie. The stripey paper is from the '29th Street Market' collection by My Mind's Eye, the flowers are a mixture of Prima and Poppicrafts, the raffia lace is from Hobbycraft, and the sentiment stamp is by Cuddly Buddly.

We have a really special Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge going live at midnight tonight...Wendy has some very exciting news to share! I'd love to be able to tell you all...but then I'd have to kill you! lol
All I can say is...you won't want to miss it...

Brrr.....Keeping Warm!

Brrrrr....it's a bit nippy out! lol
So, I've been inside, safely in the warm crafting...and have made a card for the Crafty Calendar's 'Keeping Warm' challenge. I used a Whiff of Joy image...as Willow looks nice and toasty with her big chunky jumper and hot chocolate. I followed one of the Pink Elephant Challenge sketches...to make my card for this month's friendship card swap on the Docrafts forum. The papers are BasicGrey 'Blush'...in keeping with the 'chocolate' theme, the sentiment stamp is by StudioG, and the ribbon is from Poppicrafts.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

When I saw that the theme for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge was 'Song Titles/Lyrics'...my initial reaction was 'Eeeek!'...but after a rootle through my box of images, I found this fabby little mouse...called 'Let it Snow'....problem solved! lol
I followed the Mojo Monday sketch, making an A5 sized card to give me room for the sentiment (also a Penny Black stamp). For the bakcground, I embossed the reverse sides of two pieces of My Mind's Eye '29th Street Market' papers using my 'Swiss Dots' and 'Snowflakes' folders...sanding to reveal the detail. I used my new Cuttlebug snowflake die...it's spritzed with 'Shimmerz' (in Baby's Breath).
I'm also going to enter this card for the Crafty Calendar Challenge...where the theme for this month is 'Weather'.
