Dad's the Word

Today I'm sharing the card I made for my Dad for Father's day. It features a cute stamp that I found in a charity shop a little while ago, called 'Dad's the Word' by Lili of the Valley. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Fresh Florals' pad by Craft Sensations...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen before layering it all on to a kraft card blank.

I also made a simple gift tag for my Dad's present...using a cute Penny Blac chicken stamp called 'Present Pile'. I stamped it on to a snippet of watercolour paper, coloured it using watercolour pencils, then carefully cut him out. I heat embossed a chicken wire background stamp (by Darkroom Door) on to a kraft luggage tag using silver embossing powder, added the chicken on top using 3D foam pads, then tied it all together using some red baker's twine.

PBSC June - Anything Goes (Optional 'Happy Birthday')...More Inspiration!

It's the third Saturday of the month, so that means it's time for some more inspiration for this month's Penny Black Saturday Challenge...where the theme is:

'Anything Goes'
or
'Happy Birthday'

I inked up my oldest Penny Black stamp...'Birthday Dog'...for my card, stamping him on to watercolour paper, then colouring him using watercolour pencils. I paired him with papers from the 'Party Day' pad by Crate Paper...distressing the edges, and adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'What This!' set by Anita Jream for the Colorado Craft Company.

Garden Bouquet

Today's card features an old Hero Arts floral silhouette stamp called 'Garden Bouquet'. I inked it up using a trio of bright Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet & Mermaid Lagoon), then stamped it along the bottom of a piece of watercolour paper, overlapping the colours. I added a sentiment using a stamp from the 'Go To Words' set by Visible Image, then distressed all the edges before adding it to a kraft card blank.

ABC Christmas Challenge - L & M are for?

We have a fun new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Marie is the host, and the themes are:

'L is for Lanterns'
&
'M is for Music'

The prize for the lucky winner is this cute 'Santa  Activities' die set from Sizzix & Olivia Rose:

For my 'L is for Lanterns' card, I used a Crafter's Companion stamp from the 'Moonbeam Meadow' collection called 'Christmas Delivery'. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, along with one of the matching sentiments, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from a pad from The Works...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

On my 'M is for Music' card, I used a Penny Black image from the 'Christmas Hugs' set, stamping it on to watercolour paper along with a sentiment from the 'Carolling Chicks' set by Stamping Bella, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are a mixture of Folia Paper 'Geomentrics' (the pink & stripey ones), and Poundland 'Pure Frozen' (the aqua snowflake one). I distressed all of the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

Game Changer

Today's card features a stamp I won as part of a prize from the Allsorts Challenge 15th birthday...it's called 'Game Changer' by AALL & Create. I stamped the images on to watercolour paper, adding a sentiment using a stamp from the 'What This!' set by Anita Jeram for the Colorado Craft Company to the screen, then coloured the images using watercolour pencils. I used papers from a Christmas pad from Poundland called 'Let it Snow' for the background...distressing the edges a little, and adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

Trimming the Tree

I have another Christmas card to share today, featuring another charity shop find...a Penny Black stamp called 'Trimming the Tree'. I stamped it on to watercolour paper, added a sentiment using a stamp from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, then coloured the image using watercolour pencils. I was away from home when I made this card and didn't have any suitably coloured papers with me, so simply matted the image on to green and then red card before adding it to a kraft card blank.

Christmas Pandas

I have a Christmas card to share today, featuring a cute panda stamp from a set I found in a charity shop last week. It wasn't in its original packaging, so I'm not sure what brand the stamps are...they look a lot like Wild Rose Studio, but despite persistent Googling, I've not been able to identify them - if you do know what they are, please let me know! I stamped the image on to watercolour paper, adding a sentiment from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Let it Snow' pad from Poundland...I distressed all of the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and black and white gel pens.

June Desk Calendar

Today I'm sharing my desk calendar page for June...featuring a cute Penny Black sheep stamp called 'Butterflies & Ewe'...for no other reason than I already had him stamped, and he was the perfect size! He was stamped on a snippet of watercolour paper, coloured using watercolour pencils, then I used one of my Nesties to cut the circle shape. I paried it with snippets of papers from a My Mind's Eye pad called 'Pretty Please'. I distressed all of the edges then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

or
'Happy Birthday'
(In honour of the PBSC's 16th Birthday this month!)

I picked '...to You!' as the image for my card...I love the way the cow's markings are part of the sentiment! I stamped it on to watercolour paper, then coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Geometrie' pad by Folia Paper (found at TKMaxx). I matted everything on to aqua card before adding it to the card blank.
