Spring Chick Easter Treat Bag

I have another Easter treat bag to share today...using 'Spring Chick' by Penny Black, which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The cloudy sky background is a paper from the '72 & Sunny' pad by We R Memory Keepers, and the green papers are from a pad by Heidi Grace...I used my Die-namics 'Grassy Edges' and 'Picket Fence' dies to cut the grass and fence.

Pile It On! Challenge - Use Designer Paper

This week at Pile It On! our challenge is a nice easy one:

'Use Designer Paper'

We are sponsored for this challenge by Red Rubber Designs:

I've used stamps from the 'Brighten Your Day' set from Red Rubber Designs on my card...colouring the images using watercolour pencils, before cutting them out. I used papers from a Heidi Grace pad to create the background...adding faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.

Here are the challenges I've piled on:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Bright & Sunny

It's the first Saturday of the month...so that means it's time for a new Penny Black Saturday Challenge...and this month the theme is:
'Bright & Sunny'

As usual, we have some fabulous prizes on offer from our lovely sponsors:

Prize - a $20 voucher

I've used a cat from the 'Hello Friend' set on my card...and made a little scene for him using some patterned papers (the spotty blue paper is from a Heidi Grace pad, and the rest are from the 'Hippity Hoppity' pad by We R Memory Keepers). I use my Nesties for the 'sun', and my Memory Box 'Puffy Clouds' die for the clouds. I stamped the cat on to the blue paper, so that I would have to do too much fussy cutting of the kitty's fur & whiskers...and paper pieced his balloons.

Oldie but a Goodie - Glitz & Glam

It's time for a new challenge over at Oldie but a Goodie, and this fortnight the theme is:

'Glitz & Glam'

I'm not sure of the prize info at the time of writing this...so I'll update it when I get home from school :0)

I've used a Whiff of Joy image ('Willow Dressing Up') that my lovely friend Samantha sent to me ages ago...she's been waiting patiently for me to make a 'glamorous' card! lol I coloured her in my favourite colour...teal/aqua...to match the Heidi Grace papers. I added some frilly lace along the edges of one of the papers, and some sheer ribbon (both from Ribbon Reel)...with a faux bow held in place using a sparkly brad (from Craft Obsessions). For a little bit of 'glitz' I added a few sparkly gems & pearls.

I distressed the edges, then added faux stitching using my Cutterbee Bug and a black gel pen. The buttons are by Papermania and are threaded with some Dovecraft twine...the sentiment stamp is from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts.

Ok...so on to my card...I've used a cute monkey image from Bugaboo Stamps called 'Sock Monkey Winter Snowballs', which I coloured using watercolour pencils...then added sparkle to the snowballs using some Stickles). The papers are from a Heidi Grace pad (sorry...it doesn't appear to have a name!)...I added doodled borders around the edges, and a Lili of the Valley sentiment...perfect for a cheeky little monkey next Christmas!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge - Recipe

We have a 1-2-3 recipe for you this fortnight over at the Cuttlebug Spot Challenge:

'1 Button, 2 Ribbons & 3 Papers (one of which must be embossed)'

I've used an adorable Lili of the Valley stamp ('Bunnies - In Love') on my card, which I coloured using watercolour pencil. The papers are from a Heidi Grace pad...I embossed the darker green paper using my Cuttlebug 'Kassie's Brocade' folder, then sanded over the surface to reveal the white core. I distressed the edges of the papers a little, then added faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the sentiment is also by Lili of the Valley, and the button & ribbons are from my stash.

Bunny Bear

I've had this little cutie ('Kiki - Honey Bunny' by Pollycraft) coloured for a couple of weeks...so when I found myself with a little crafting time on my hands yesterday, I made her into a card. I used some papers from a Heidi Grace pad...distressing the edges, before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts, and I cut the 'eggs' using a couple of my oval Nesties.

Leap Frog

I'm back with the bright colours today...these papers are from a Heidi Grace pad I got ages ago at TKMaxx...I added so faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The froggy is 'Leap for Joy' by Penny Black...and, as I always think he should be looking at something, I added a bee from the 'Every Which Way' set (also by Penny Black). The sentiment stamp is from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts and the ribbon is from Fantastic Ribbons.

Don't take my cake!!!

Doesn't this wee chap look worried that someone's about to pinch his cake?!?! He's called 'To cake moment' by Penny Black, and I coloured him using watercolour pencils. The papers are from a Heidi Grace pad (sorry there's no name on it), and I embossed the plainer one using my Craft Concepts 'Cupcakes' folder...sanding over the raised areas to reveal the core. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts 'Cupcakes' set, the stars were cut using Nesties, and the seam binding ribbon is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I've got a 'Mid-way Reminder' card for our current ABC Christmas Challenge for you today, where the theme is:
'M is for Monochrome'

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

With a fantastic prize of 4 Wags 'n Whiskers digi stamps!
On the card I made last week, I used my favourite colour...blue, and this time I've used one of my least favourite colours....pink! The image is from the 'Jolly Friends' set by Penny Black - I coloured it using watercolour pencils, then added some 'Crystal' Stickles to the snow. The papers are from a Heidi Grace pad (sorry...it doesn't seem to have a name on it) - I distressed the edges, and added some faux stitching with my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. I used my Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' folder for the embossing, sanding over the raised area to reveal the white core, then added a few pieces of Card Candi.

Pink Party Princess

I have a VERY pink card to show you today...I've used a Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl called 'Party Princess', which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The pink papers are from a Heidi Grace pad, the sentiment stamp is from the Hero Arts 'Anytime Messages' set, and I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' border punch on the white card. I cut the flowers using a die from the Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet set, and added some adhesive pearls to their centres.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - GDT Card!

I'm back with another guest designer card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge...and this week the theme is:

'Pretty in Pink'

The prize this week is a $20 voucher from 1-2-3 Stitch

Eeeek...I'm not really a fan of pink...but I figured, if I'm going to do pink, I may as well DO pink. The stamp I've used is 'Vanilla' (of course by Penny Black), as I thought she'd look good in a pink dress. I found some really pink papers (from a Heidi Grace pad), flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, spotty pink ribbon, and even some Craft Obsessions jewelled brads in pink amongst my stash...I realised that despite not liking pink, I actually have rather a lot of pink items! I added a Cuddly Buddly sentiment and some small adhesive pearls in the corners to finish.

I'm sure that the fabulous Penny Black Saturday Challenge girls have made some stunning pink creations to inspire you...I know I can't wait to have a look!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Tons of Texture

It's my turn to set the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week, which is:

'Tons of Texture'

I love to make my cards look tactile, with Cuttlebug embossing, distressed edges, ribbons, buttons, pearls, gems, flowers, glitter and lace...and I've managed to cram most of those on this card!

The adorable image is a House Mouse stamp called 'Birthday Cupcake', which I coloured with watercolour pencils, before giving the icing a generous coating of 'Crystal' Stickles (available here at the Secret Crafter). The papers are a mixture of My Mind's Eye (from the freebie 'Quite Contrary' pad) and Heidi Grace. I used my Cuttlebug 'Happy Birthday' folder on one of the plainer papers...sanding the raised areas to let the white core show through. I distressed all of the edges, and then added some faux stitching with my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. I added some paper flowers, in place of a sentiment...threading some organza ribbon through a button (from this Woodware pack at the Secret Crafter) for the centre. For some finishing touches I added a few adhesive pearls (available here at the Secret Crafter) and a simple bow.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Lime, Blue & Pink

It's Tracie's turn to set the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week...and she has chosen a colour combo of:

'Lime, Blue & Pink

I've used it to make...surprise, surprise...a Christmas card! The image is 'Presents for Two' by Lili of the Valley, coloured with watercolour pencils. The papers are all from a Heidi Grace pad (sorry it doesn't have a name on it), and I distressed all of the edges before adding some faux stitching. You may notice that I've used a couple of new bits'n'pieces on this card...had a little spend of a Secret Crafter gift voucher I got for my birthday...yes I know that was months ago...but it's taken me ages to decide what to get! lol Anyway, as always, Wendy got my goodies to me quickly, and I just had to use them right away! I used one of my new 'Lacey Circles' Nesties behind the image, and cut lots of snowflakes with my new Marianne Designs Creatables Snowflakes. The other snowflakes were cut using my trusty Cuttlebug die. The sentiment stamp is by Cuddly Buddly, the spotty ribbon (just seen) is from Poppicrafts, and I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' border punch on the green paper.

Just Cute Bears & Friends - Winter Birthdays

The theme for you this week at Just Cute Bears & Friends is:

'Winter Birthdays'

I've used an adorable little mouse digi stamp from Pollycraft (that I won on another challenge last week) called 'Mimi's Gift'...she looks so cozy wrapped up in her coat and hat! Rather than use Christmassy/Wintry coloured papers, I decided to go bright, and coloured her to match these bold Heidi Grace ones. I distressed the edges, and added some faux stitching with my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The flowers are by Prima, and the sentiment is from the CCSR set by Papermania.
