Butterfly Birthday

This card is in the same style as these Christmas cards that I shared last week...in fact I made them at the same time...but chose to use a butterfly die (from a set by Stampendous) rather than a Christmas one to go over the 'smooshed' inky background. The Distress Ink colours used on this card were: Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch & Seedless Preserves. I popped the die cut panel up on 3D foam pads over the inky background, and added a sentiment (from the 'Handwritten Borders' set from Simon Says Stamp)...I only inked the sentiment part of the stamp.

Just like the Christmas cards, I was able to get two cards out of the inky background:

Wonderfully stylish and elegant - I love the intense background with the classy butterfly die as a negative to frame it. The scripty sentiment goes beautifully with the design. Thanks for joining in with our 300th challenge at Less is More!

Wow! That smooshed colour is so rich, vibrant and luxurious Helen. What a stunner of a card! The shape of that butterfly die is terrific and I love the bold block of colour matched with the delicate script-y sentiment. Super to see you entering our Less is More 300th celebrations. xx
