Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Guess Who's on the DT???

Me!!!

I can't tell you how excited I was when Kath asked me if I'd like to join her and the girls on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge DT...I absolutely adore their challenges...it was the first blog challenge I ever entered, even before I had a blog, and I've entered every single one of the challenges...and I had great fun being a guest designer a couple of months ago...so of course I said YES!!! And...I'm not the only newbie...the lovely Ali...a fellow Penny Black addict...is joining them too! :0)

Ok, so on to this week's challenge...the theme is:

'Distressing'

And we have a couple of fabulous prizes from our sponsors to tempt you:

 From Penny Black:

4054K Gentlest Kiss

 And, from the Ribbon Girl:
10 bundles of Seam Binding
The winner gets to pick the colours...but here are a few examples:

You'll see from my card, that I'm a bit partial to seam binding ribbon myself!

I decided to have a play with one of the Distress Inks I bought recently...and stamped my image 'Constellations' by Penny Black) in Faded Jeans on white card. I used the same ink on a water brush to colour the flower heads, and around the edges. I also stamped the sentiment (from the 'Heartfelt Messages' set by Hero Arts) in the same ink, and once again inked around the edges. I created the background using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' and 'Victoria' folders on a Core'dinations card in a couple of shades of blue, then sanded over the surface to reveal the lighter coloured core. I distressed all of the edges with my distressing tool, added a piece of seam binding ribbon (dyed with the Faded Jeans ink to match) tied in a large bow, and a few adhesive pearls to finish.

You'll find more inspiration from the rest of the fabulous DT over on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog.
