ABC Christmas Challenge - Z is for...

Happy Christmas everyone!

Over at the ABC Christmas Challenge, we don't stop for Christmas...so we have a new challenge starting today...we've reached the end of the alphabet, so our theme this fortnight is:

'Z is for Zany'
(Use a funny/humorous image on your projects)

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

I've used a Penny Black stamp called 'Snowboard Ride'...well, nothing says Christmas better than a snowboarding chicken...right??? I simply coloured the image using watercolour pencils, added a Lili of the Valley sentiment, then pierced a few holes in each corner before mounting it on to the card blank using 3D foam pads.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
For more inspiration from my lovely DT buddies, please pop over to the ABC Christmas Challenge.

Champagne Thomas!

I need loads of birthday cards this month...so I made a couple at the weekend. This one uses 'Champagne Thomas' by Lili of the Valley, and papers form the 'Wild Asparagus' collection by My Mind's Eye. I distressed the edges, and added faux stitching using my Cutterbee Bug and a white gel pen. I used one of my Cuttlebug 'Just My Type' folders, which I haven't used in ages, on the strip across the centre, then sanded the raised area to reveal the white core of the paper. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts, and the flowers are by Prima.

Christmas Bunnies

You might need your sunglasses on for this card...it's VERY bright! lol

I've used an adorable Lili of the Valley stamp called 'Christmas Bunnies - Robin', and papers from the 'Colourful Christmas' collection by My Mind's Eye. I distressed the edges, and added some faux stitching. I used my EK Succes 'Diamond Scallop' border punch, added a couple of die cut snowflakes from the accesory sheet that came with the papers, and some Stickles to the the fur trims.

Present Pile!

I've got another clean & simple Christmas card to show you today...I do love this style of card, but it's never going to help make a dent in my patterned paper stash! lol
I've used 'Present Pile' by Lili of the Valley...I just love these bears! The paper is from an old DCWV 'Christmas' stack, and I used my EK Success 'Diamond Scallop' punch along the edges of the red card that I've matted it on to. To finish off, I added some card candy, and a couple of snowflakes cut using a Cuttlebug die.

Challenges for this card:
I have candy on offer at the moment...if you haven't already entered, you can find all of the details on this post.

Get Well Bunny

I've used another of the new stamps I got for my birthday on this card...'Get Well Bunny' by Lili of the Valley...isn't he adorable...I just love the carrot medicine! lol
I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge...where I was so excited to see that I made the Top 3 last week with this card :0) I used papers from the 'Wisteria' and 'Kioshi' pads by BasicGrey, embossing the plain one with my 'Kassie's Brocade' Cuttlebug folder, lightly sanding the surface to reveal some of the white core of the paper. I added a few adhesive pearls, and an organza ribbon bow. I'm also going to enter this card into Stampin' for the Weekend's 'Anything Goes' challenge, and Totally Stampalicious' 'Texture' challenge.

Skating Along

I've used another of the new stamps I got for my birthday on this card...this one is called 'Skating Along' by Lili of the Valley. I followed the sketch from Sketchy Thursday at Eat, Sleep, Stamp, and used glittered papers from the 'Wonderful Winter' pad by My Mind's Eye. The snowflake was cut using my Cuttlebug 'Ice Crystal' die, which I then covered with a generous helping of Glamour Dust.

White & Bright

It's another Christmas card today I'm afraid...but I thought that the Papertake Weekly Challenge theme of 'White & Bright' would be just perfect for a Christmas card. I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge...using these adorable 'Bunnies in Stocking'. I've used several Cuttlebug folders for the background: 'Swiss Dots', 'Snowflakes' and 'Snow Dots'. The snowflake was cut using the Cuttlebug 'Ice Crystal' die, which I then coated with lots of Glamour Dust, and the sentiment stamp is from Cuddly Buddly. I'm also going to enter this card into Christmas Cards All Year Round August Challenge, where the theme is 'Snowflakes'

I Baked a Cake!

Well...actually I didn't....but that's what this adorable Lili of the Valley image is called! lol
The paper is Bo Bunny 'Back to Basics', the sentiment stamp is from the 'Fabulous Birthday' set by Hero Arts, and the spotty ribbon is from Hobbycraft. I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge, and am also entering this card into a few other challenges: C.R.A.F.T. - 'Cakes/Ice cream'; Raise the Bar - 'Baked Goodies'; and Pollycraft - 'Bold & Bright'.

Christmas Bunnies - Robin

I'm just managing to sneak in a card for this week's Lili of the Valley Challenge...it's a fab sketch, so I couldn't resist! I've used one of Lili of the Valley's Christmas stamps (Christmas Bunnies - Robin), keeping it really simple with a couple of pieces of paper from the 'Wonderful Winter' glitter pad by My Mind's Eye, and a big satin bow in place of the sentiment. I'm also going to enter this card into the Corrosive and Fussy and Fancy challenges, which both have 'Christmas in July' as theie current theme.

Teddy with Bouquet

I knew I wasn't going to be able to go all week without using a Lili of the Valley bear! lol  This one is called 'Teddy with Bouquet'...isn't he adorable?! But I do have an excuse...I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge for this card. I coloured him with watercolour pencils, and added some sparkle to the flowers with a Sakura Stardust pen. The glittery papers are from the 'Penny Lane' stack by My Mind's Eye.

Busy Baking...

I love all of the recent Lili of the Valley stamps...these 'Busy Bears' are just adorable! I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge on the front of this card....rotating it 90 degrees...and creating a 'fold back' where the line is...so that I could use two of the images ('Busy Baking' and 'I Baked a Cake') together. The checked paper is from the 'Sweet Nothings' pad by Papermania, the Kraft card is by Bazzill, and the sentiment stamps are from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts.

Here's a view of the card 'open' so that you can see both of the images:

I'm also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Spring Bunny with Daffodils

I've used another of the adorable Lili of the Valley images sent to me by my lovely friend Pauline...this one is called 'Spring Bunny with Daffodils'...just perfect for the Totally Papercrafts 'Spring' challenge. I followed the sketch from the Lili of the Valley Challenge, and used papers by Pink Paislee (from the '365 Degrees') pad. The flowers are a mixture of Poppicrafts and Hobbycraft, and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Anytime Messages' by Hero Arts. Little Star

This week's Lili of the Valley Challenge of 'Blue & Silver' made me immediately think of Christmas cards...so I decided to use 'Little Star' (by Lili of the Valley) and follow the Sketch Saturday sketch. I didn't have any suitable patterned papers, so I made my background by embossing plain card using my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' and 'Snowflakes' folders...perfect for this week's Allsorts Challenge, where the theme is 'No Design Papers'. The sentiment stamp is by Cuddly Buddly.

Daisy Chain

Having got all my DT stuff for next week done & dusted...and a couple of other 'Top Secret' projects finished too (I'd love to be able to show you...but I have to keep them 'under wraps' for now)...I've had a little play and come up with a card for a few challenges. I followed the sketch from Card Patterns, and have made a DL sized easel card, which I'm going to enter into the Penny Black Saturday & Lili of the Valley challenges...which both have the theme of 'Easel Cards' this week. I've used 'Daisy Chain Mice' (by Penny Black), and papers and die cuts from the 'Ooh La La (for Him)' collection by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment stamp is by Funstamps.

As I'm sending this card to my partner for this month's Friendship card swap on the Docrafts forum, I'm also going to enter this card into the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential's 'Hey Girlfriend' challenge.

Furry Christmas

I'm still in Christmas card mode...have got loads done this half term...nearly enough...then I just need to get cracking with the presents! lol
This card uses the Lili of the Valley Challenge sketch...which I rotated...and I'm also entering it for the Allsorts Challenge, where the theme this week is 'Furry Friends'. The image is 'Christmas Teddy - Little Star', and the papers and diecut snowflake are all from the BasicGrey 'Figgy Pudding' collection.

Beary Christmas!

This card uses the Carol's Sketch Fun Challenge sketch...and the
Lili of the Valley Challenge 'Child's Christmas Card' theme. I love this little bear...he just looks sooooo cuddly!
I've kept the card quite simple, as it's for a child...didn't want to add anything that could fall, or be pulled off! The paper is from the DCWV 'Text' stack, the gold panel was embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Snow Dots' folder, and the sentiment stamp is by Three Bugs in a Rug.

Christmas Bunnies

This is another of the Lili of the Valley stamps ('Christmas Bunnies - Stocking') I treated myself to when I completed my first stash diet...I'm just over halfway through my second batch of 30 cards...so I'm beginning to think about what new stash to get at the end of that one now! lol
So, I just had to enter the Lili of the Valley Challenge as they have a fab sketch...it's my first time. I'm also entering this card for the Stampavie & More Challenge where the theme this week is 'Animals'. The paper is from the 'Christmas' stack by DCWV, the snowflakes were cut using a Cuttlebug die, and the buttons are from my stash.
