We have a fun new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Wilma is the host, and the themes for this month are:
'C is for Christmas Carols'
&
'D is for Diamonds'
There's a little prize from Wilma for the lucky winner:
I have quite a few 'carolling' images, but chose this cute Penny Black one simply called 'Carolers', and paired it with the Papermain papers from a pad called 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'...turning my chickens into 'Three French Hens'! I stamped the image on to watercolour paper, then coloured them using watercolour pencils. I distressed all of the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen.
I chose to incorporate diamonds in a few different ways on my second card, with some diamond patterend paper (from the 'Geometrie' pad by Folia Paper), an adhesive 'diamante' and some 'Diamond Stickles' glitter glue for plenty of sparkle. The image is 'XMouse Ornament' by Penny Black...stamped on to watercolour paper, and coloured using watercolour pencils. The sentiment stamp is from a set by the Colorado Craft Company.

You always work magic with Penny Black stamps, and these two are no exception! I love your chicken, er, hen carollers, and your little mouse is so sweet with all the sparkle around him.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could hear those fabulous hens belting out the Carols, Helen! Love how you watercoloured your images this time and your papers mix so well together. Lovely cards to add to the stash.
