Pile It On! Challenge - Pets and/or Your Favourite Way to Colour an Image

It's the third Sunday of the month, so I have another project for this month's Pile It On! Challenge, where the themes are:

'Pets'
and/or
'Your Favourite Way to Colour an Image'

Are sponsor this month is Dr Digi's House of Stamps
Prize - 2 Digis of the winner's choice!

My favourite way to colour an image (as you'll probably know if you're a regular visitor to my blog) is with watercolour pencils. I picked an image by Simon Says Stamp called 'Furry Christmas', coloured them then carefully cut them out. I made a simple background by heat embossing my 'Falling Snow' background stamp (also by Simon Says Stamp) using white embossing powder on kraft card. I also heat embossed one of the sentiments from the 'Furry Christmas' set on a snippet of  kraft card, and cut that out too. To echo the red in the image, I matted it all on to a snippet of red card before adding it to my card blank.

Here are the challenges I've piled on:

PBSC November - 'Anything Goes' (Optional 'Anything but a Card')

It's the third Saturday of the month, so I'm back with some more inspiration for this month's Penny Black Saturday Challenge...where the theme is:

'Anything Goes'
or
'Anything but a Card'

As usual, we are sponsored by the awesome 1-2-3 Stitch:
Prize - a $20 voucher!

Ages ago, I received a pack of Prima watercolour tags as part of a challenge prize...I've never got round to using them before as they're huge for tags (8.5 inches long!), but I thought that I'd turn one into a bookmark for this month's challenge. I used stamps from the Penny Black 'Social Butterfly' set, and heat embossed them on the tag using clear embossing powder. I then watercoloured over the top using Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves & Mermaid Lagoon), drying in between layers with my heat gun. I then splattered some water droplets over the top, distressed the edges a little, then added a selection of co-ordinating ribbons & twine.

I'm also entering this bookmark/tag into the following challenges:

'W is for Wishes'
&
'X is for Xmas'

Our sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said:

On my 'W is for Wishes' card, the image is called 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' and the sentiment is from a set by Pollycraft for C. C. Designs.

On my 'X is for Xmas' card, the image is called 'Bedecked Antlers', and the sentiment stamp is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous...I altered it slightly by masking off the 'Christ' part of the word 'Christmas', and drawing in an 'X' to replace it.

New Home

My parents moved house yesterday...and this is the card I made for them...I know they received it today, so it's safe to show it on here. I used stamps from the 'Family Home' set by Stampendous...stamping the houses on to snippets of patterned papers (from the 'Paper Hearts' pad by Crate Paper). I carefully cut them out, then added them to a scene made using more papers from the same pad (and one from the 'Frost & Snow' pad by Craft Creations for the sky). I distressed the edges of all of the papers, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment was made using stamps from the 'Graffiti' Alphabet set by Paper Smooches.
