Partial stamping is a technique I like to use with some of the larger Penny Black images...it helps to make them fit better on a smaller card, and of course makes the images more versatile. The stamp I used on my card is called 'Cluck, Cluck, Cluck'...the whole stamp has four chickens on it, but as I was making this card for my Dad's birthday, I chose to mask off the chicken carrying the bouquet of flowers before I inked it...here's what the original stamp looks like:
I coloured the image using watercolour pencils to match the colours in the checked papers I was going to use...I think they're by Lawn Fawn, but I received them as part of a prize. I distressed all of the edges, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Butterfly Birthday' set by Happy Little Stampers.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
- Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
- Polkadoodles - Anything Goes
- Simon Says Stamp (Wednesdays) - Anything Goes
