Scrappy Christmas!

I have (yet!) more Christmas cards to share today...some really quick and simple ones using up some of the last scraps of paper from my 'Merry Little Christmas' pad by My Mind's Eye - I've loved this pad and now only have a few 'odd' bits left! I used a piece of each paper to cover part of my card blank (these are A6...the paper scraps weren't really big enough for my usual square cards) cutting a wavy edge freehand. I stamped a sentiment (from the 'Very Merry Christmas' set) on to each card, then simply added some die cut snowflakes...cut using Cuttlebug dies from more scraps of card.

Here are some close-ups of the cards...the cards are all straight - it's my photography that's wonky!

Reindeer

Lacking in inspiration...other than knowing that I wanted to use these cute Hero Arts reindeer...I did a search on Google images for cards using this stamp and die set, and stumbled across this fabulous card by Vicki...and borrowed totally stole her idea! I hunted out lots of Christmas sentiments (from sets by Hero Arts, Penny Black, Paper Make-Up, Simon Says Stamp & Lili of the Valley) and used them to make the 'wordy' backgrounds, then simply added my reindeer on top, raised up on 3D foam pads.

Pile It On! Challenge - Thinking of You

We have a new Pile It On! Challenge starting today...and the theme is:

'Thinking of You'

Our sponsor this week is Pickled Potpourri Designs:
Prize - $7 Gift Certificate!

I started by stamping a Hero Arts 'Music' background stamp on white card using 'London Fog' Memento Ink, then blended various shades of blue Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, faded Jeans, Stormy Sky & Chipped Sapphire) over the top. The butterfly stamp is from the 'Social Butterfly' set by Penny Black...I stamped it using black Stazon Ink on to vellum, then carefully cut it out. I also stamped my sentiment (from a little Studio G set) on to vellum...then tore the edges before wrapping it around my blue background. The little adhesive pearls are by Papermania.

Here are the challenges I've piled on:

Footprints in the sand...

I have another summery/beachy card to share today. I started by inking up an acrylic block using  Distress Inks (Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans & Stormy Sky) then spritzing it with water before stamping on to plain white card. I then used a mixture of Scattered Straw and Pumice Stone inks to paint 'footprints' in the sand along the edge of the 'shoreline'. The I simply added a sentiment (from the 'Sending Sunshine' set by Simon Says Stamp) and matted in on to black card.

Aeroplane Birthday

Something a little bit different for me today...I was asked to make an 80th birthday card for a gentlemen...his interests were listed as: mechanical things; aeroplanes; and war 'stuff'! I didn't have any suitable stamps...or papers...so after a bit of Googling I set about trying to make a plane using some of my circle Nesties and a corner rounder punch! I picked card in RAF blue for the plane...adding some light grey 'windows' and darker grey 'engines'! For the background, I used some sky blue card, adding some die cut clouds (Memory Box 'Puffy Clouds'), then simply added some die cut numbers (Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet).
