Oldie but a Goodie - April Showers

This fortnight over at Oldie but a Goodie, the challenge theme is:

'April Showers'

Not sure what the prize is for this challenge...so I'll update this post when I find out :0)

I've used a Happy Hopper image called 'Puddle Fun' that was sent to me in a swap absolutrly ages ago...it's been waiting patiently to be coloured...and I thought it would be just perfect for our theme! As it's so large, I kept the rest of the card really simple...using just one paper (from the 'Wild Asparagus' collection from My Mind's Eye)...distressing the edges, and adding some faux stitching.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Joy Filled Stockings

Ooops...here's a card that I made last weekend for a 'stocking' themed challenge that got lost in amongst all of my scheduled and draft posts...so I totally missed the deadline...oh well, nevermind! The image is 'Joy Filled Stockings' by Penny Black...which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Merriest Wishes' set by Hero Arts, and I simply doodled the border using a black gel pen.

Furry Christmas

Another Christmas card from me today...this time a CAS one using stamps from a set by Simon Says Stamp called 'Furry Christmas'. I simply coloured the image using watercolour pencils, added one of the sentiments from the set, and doodled a border...another 'cheap-to-post' card for the Christmas box!

ABC Christmas Challenge - H is for...

I have another card for our current ABC Christmnas Challenge today, where the theme is:

'H is for Holiday Helpers'
(Think Elves, Reindeer etc)

Our fabulous sponsor is:

Our very own Lacey, with her awesome Stamp & Create store!

My 'holiday helpers' are little Penny Black hedgies (the stamp's called 'Coming your way!')...helping deliver presents on their sleigh! I used papers from the 'Winter Wonderland' pad by My Mind's Eye...I matted them on to red card, and added a doodled border. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Merriest Wishes' set by Hero Arts, and the Card Candi is by Craftwork Cards.

Enjoy the Journey...

I share a flat with a bike fanatic...and found myself drawn to this 'Classic Bicycle' stamp from Hero Arts! I simply stamped it a couple of times in grey...and then once in black, and added a sentiment done on computer. I did think abour colouring the central bike for more contrast, but I actually quite like it without any 'colour'...very unlike me!

Three Sunflowers

The stamp I've used on today's card ('Three Sunflowers' by Hero Arts) is the other bargain stamp I picked up in the Hobbycraft sale...I simply coloured it using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Ooh La La (for Her)' collection by My Mind's Eye...I distressed the edges aa little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts.
