Challenges for this card:
- Sketch & Stash - Sketch & Circle Shaped Card
- Creative Card Crew - Die Cuts
- Little Rad Wagon - Nestabilities
- Winter Wonderland - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas...
This is another of the gorgeous Lili of the Valley images my lovely friend Pauline sent to me a few weeks ago...I'm not really a 'fairy' kind of girl...but this one ('On Tiptoe') is adorable! I followed the sketch from the Creative Card Crew Challenge, and am also entering this card into the Papertake Weekly's 'Shiny, Sparkly & Special' and Creative Inspirations (Wednesdays) 'Fairies' challenges. The sparkly papers are from the 'Penny Lane' stack by My Mind's Eye, and the flowers are a mixture of Prima and Making Memories.
I won some cute digi stamps from Prairie Fairy on the Cards for Men challenge blog a couple of weeks ago...the one I've used on this card is called 'Gerry's Birthday'...doesn't he look sweet in his little party hat?! I followed a sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp, who are celebrating their 1st birthday this week...Happy Birthday girls! They are letting us choose from all of their previous sketches...I went for number 5. I've also managed to squeeze in a couple of other challenge themes: Creative Card Crew - 'Happy Birthday'; and Paper Sundaes - 'No People'. The stripey paper is from the '360 Degrees' pad by Pink Paislee, I used my Cuttlebug 'Spots & Dots' folder for the embossing, and the sentiment stamp is by Studio G.
Woo-hoo...no school for me today!!! They've broken up for Easter...so I was allowed to have a lie-in...yay...except, I've woken up with a raging sore throat...and streaming nose...lovely! :0(
Well....it's back to school today...but I made the most of my last day of freedom, and have plenty to share with you over the next few days. This card uses the Sketch Saturday sketch, the Creative Card Crew's, Stampavie & More's and Pile it On's 'Get Well Soon' theme, and the Paper Sundae's challenge of 'Distressing'. I adore 'Boo Boo Bear' (by Whipper Snapper)...so I just had to use him on this card. The papers are from the 'Wisteria' pad by BasicGrey, and I distressed the edges with ink and my distressing tool. The flowers are by Prima, and the sentiment stamp is from the CCSR set by Papermania.
Well, I certainly made the most of my crafting time yesterday...but I won't overload you cards all at once...I'll have something to show you everyday. The first one this week uses the Sketch & Stash Challenge sketch...my new item is the 'Maggie with stick and accessories' (by Sugar Nellie)...I've had this stamp for ages...it came in a goody bag, but this is it's first outing on a card. I thought that as Maggie was all wrapped up, she'd be perfect for the Pollycraft Challenge's 'Winter Birthdays' theme. The paper is by My Mind's Eye ('Adore'), the sentiment stamp is from the CCSR set by Papermania and the flowers are a mixture of Prima and Poppicrafts. I distressed all of the edges with my distressing tool...so I'm also entering this card for the Creative Card Crew's 'Distressing' challenge.
I've used the other of the new stamps I won in Elaine's WCMD candy for this fortnight's Sketch & Stash Challenge...'Hope & Grace - Snuggle' (by The Greeting Farm). I've combined it with the 'Autumn Colours' theme of this week's Anyone for Anya Challenge, and the 'Baby's & Children's Cards' theme of the Creative Card Crew Challenge...I'm going to send this card to one of the Post Pals children. The papers are by My Mind's Eye ('Bloom & Grow', and the flowers & brads are from Poppicrafts.
The Secret Crafter Challenge is celebrating it's blogoversary this week...so their theme is 'Celebration'..and they have some fabby prizes on offer too! The Creative Card Crew also has 'Celebrations' as their theme this week, so I've made a birthday card (lots of birthdays this month!) using the Sketch Saturday Challenge sketch...oops...have only just noticed the pets theme...but there are some people who keep mice as pets! lol I used 'Henry - Celebrating Mouse' (by Whiff of Joy), and some of my favourite '29th Street Market' papers by My Mind's Eye. I embossed the plain reverse side of one of the sheets with the 'Swiss Dots' and 'Spots & Dots' folders, then sanded to reveal the white core. I also inked and distressed the edges of all the papers. The ribbon and flowers are from Poppicrafts, and the sentiment is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts.
Last month I embarked on a 'stash diet'...I had to make 30 cards before I could buy any stash (other than essentials like DST and card)...well I made my target in record time (just over two weeks...aided by my mass production invitations)...and bought a few Lili of the Valley Christmas stamps...they arrived last Monday...and I've been waiting all week to have time to play! :0)
I love this Penny Black stamp ('Bedecked Antlers')...it always makes me smile :0) I followed the Sunday Sketch & Stamp sketch, and used the 'Pink, Black & White' colour combo of the Creative Card Crew Challenge. The papers are from the 'Rose Tinted Christmas' stack by DCWV, the brads are by Dovecraft, the ribbon is from Poppicrafts, and the snowflakes were cut using the Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes #2' die.
This card is something a little bit different for me...no stamped image...instead, I've used die-cuts (from the 'Winter' Cuttlebug set). I've made this card for a few challenges: I used the Sketch Saturday sketch; the Daring Cardmakers dare to use 'Lace' on our cards; the 'Home for the Holidays' theme of the Winter Wonderland Challenge; and the 'Christmas in August' themes of the Creative Card Crew, Our Creative Corner and Simon Says Stamp challenges. All of the papers are from the 'Figgy Pudding' set by BasicGrey...I stamped some snowflakes (using a stamp set I got from Lakeland) with Versamark, then embossed them in clear powder on the piece right at the back. The sentiment is from a set by Three Bugs in a Rug, the snowflakes were cut using the 'Snowflakes #2' Cuttlebug die, and the ribbon and lace are from my stash.
Although this is not my usual style, I quite like the way it's turned out...although, now I see it on screen...I can't help thinking it looks rather like a Sympathy card...which is not what I set out to make at all!
There's a fab sketch for this week's Creative Card Crew Challenge, which I've used to make a birthday card...as there are lots of birthdays coming up this month! The main image is from the 'Party Critters' set by Penny Black, I've used the Cuttlebug 'Spots & Dots' folder, and spotty and stripey papers from the 'Sweet Nothings' pack by Papermania...so I'm also entering this card for this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts 'Cupcakes' set, and the flowers, brads and ribbon is from Poppicrafts.
